COLLEGE ECONOMICS - Principles of the American Economy

This one semester course is designed as an introduction to micro and macro economic study. Participants will be immersed in economic thought and learn about the functions of the market economy. The first section of the course focuses on microeconomic analysis relative to consumer and firm behavior. Market analysis for goods and services and policy choices that affect market outcomes will be explored as well. The later part of the course examines macroeconomic concepts such as aggregate production, employment, inflation and interest rates. Model analysis that determine long-run growth and short-term fluctuations in market economies will be reviewed in addition to the role of government regulation, monetary policy, and fiscal policy.
