This course is an introduction to the history and appreciation of art through a survey of humanity’s needs and aspirations as expressed in painting, sculpture, printmaking, crafts, etc. A study of individual artists and art movement in specific content relative to the political and economical circumstances is a component of the class. Other components include critical analysis of symbolism, elements and principles of art, and composition as well as writing requirements. This course may be offered for college credit.
